Researching music magazines :)

To start off my research I looked through search engine Google for music magazine's to take inspiration for my own ideas and to find the certain conventions of a typical music magazine, to make my seem realistic to it's target audience. I looked at a range of magazines such as Q, NME, Top of the Pops, Spin and Blender, which each discuss and represent different genres of music for different target audiences. Each magazine immediately shows a main image of the front of the page representing the music that it goes onto discuss later inside the magazine, this gives the reader an instant insight into the magazine and what is inside, drawing them into buying it almost straight away.

Looking at magazine examples to start off with really helps give me an impression of what my magazine product really needs to look like and include. Each magazine front cover stands out from the others in their own unique way, either by the logo such as Q which you can see on the left immediately captures your eye because of the bright red background and white capital 'Q'. This magazine is also linked with a music channel which makes the magazine more well known than many other magazines as it owns a channel which people can immediately associate with.
